Eddie Richardson (1932–2014) was a British gangster and one of the leading figures of London’s organised crime scene during the 1950s and 1960s. Alongside his brother Charlie Richardson, he became involved in criminal activities in South London, eventually establishing the Richardson Gang. The brothers became major rivals of the Kray Twins, with tensions between the two groups contributing to the violent and notorious reputation of London’s criminal underworld during the period. Eddie Richardson was eventually convicted and imprisoned for his role in organised crime. His name remains closely associated with the Richardson Gang, the London underworld and the era of British gangsters that produced some of the country’s most notorious criminal figures.
